I bought a Mac mini with M1 and a MacBook Air last year so I’m going to sit this one out until I save up enough money. AMD is talking about big performance gains, so I’m curious to see where that’ll go. So, when will the competition get their shit together? I have no clue.

Once you unplug a PC laptop, its performance tends to tank, and battery life is abysmal. With the announcement of Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, as well as this new MacBook Pro, Apple will now own the laptop market until the competition get their shit together and can ship a laptop that is comparably powerful and energy-efficient.

So Apple just announced a MacBook Pro that fixes most common complaints people had with the 20 models:
